Water supply system in Bijeljina supplies water to approximately 75,000 inhabitants in the urban area, and approximately 30,000 inhabitants in suburbs. The rest of the inhabitants is supplied mainly through individual pipelines. Water supply system functions without water supply restrictions even on high temperatures, and the water quality is constantly on a satisfactory level. The water is used without conditioning, except for disinfection by chlorination, which is done for preventive reasons. Exploitation wells are built in an enclosed immediately protected zone where all prescribed sanitary protection measures are strictly implemented.
