Continuous improvement and maintenance of information system of the City Administration is performed at the Section for Information Technology (IT). The Section performs the establishment of integral information system, jobs of the administrator of quality management system, jobs of the administrator of the registry of administrative procedures, maintenance and improvement of the official web site of the City, and other jobs related to the application of information technologies.
 
Section for IT performs jobs related to:
  • continuous supervision of functioning and analysis of computer, telecommunication and network infrastructure;
  • continuous supervision of information system usage and preparation of control procedures;
  • monitoring the development of new program solutions, monitoring the functioning of the City Administration and preparation of proposals for procurement of new software solutions;
  • supervision and improvement of automated and control procedures for entering accounting-financial transactions into the auxiliary records from the standpoint of application of international accounting standards;
  • supervision and improvement of automated procedures for entering accounting-financial transactions from the standpoint of the Law on Protection of Data;
  • coordination of activities with external IT companies hired for maintenance of information subsystems – application software, network infrastructure, mail servers and computer equipment;
  • coordination of activities with the competent departments of ministries related to usage of centralised information systems at the level of Republic of Srpska (treasury system, registries service, registry of entrepreneurs, records of beneficiaries of war veterans and disabled persons protection);
  • proposing and implementing measures and procedures for the safety and secrecy of data in accordance with the regulations, data back-up and data recovery;
  • defining special part of tender documentation for public procurements for the application software, network infrastructure and computer equipment;
  • analysis of offered contracts concerning public procurement of application software and IT equipment maintenance;
  • conducting and organising training for employees related to computers and local network;
  • management of maintenance of computer equipment, network infrastructure and licences for system software and preparation of proposals for procurement of new equipment and licences;
  • maintenance and improvement of existing internal information systems for the needs of the City Administration, and development of new ones in accordance with the available resources;
  • support for usage and maintenance of computer equipment and application software;
  • administration of the Registry of administrative procedures and QMS documentation;
  • participation in the preparation of budget for improvement of internal information system and procurement of equipment and system software;
  • participation in strategic planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting on the implementation of the City Development Strategy and sector strategies, in accordance with the scope of work, especially:
    • prepares annual operational plan for the Section, in accordance with prescribed methodology, monitors its implementation, and submits periodical reports to the Mayor;
    • collects statistical and other data, prepares various analyses, studies, reports and information within their scope of work and submits them to the competent city and other authorities;
    • actively participates in the strategic planning of integrated development;
    • participates in the preparation of project proposals and project documentation, within their scope of work;
  • performs other jobs ordered by the Mayor, and jobs placed in their scope of work by special documents.
