CampUp Has Started
The “CampUp” programme, an intensive start-up camp intended for young people aged 18 to 35, was opened today in Bijeljina. This three-day event is implemented by the Science and Technology Park of Republika Srpska in cooperation with the City of Bijeljina.
The programme brings together young people with business ideas, final-year secondary school pupils, and university students, giving them the opportunity to develop innovative start-up concepts through interactive workshops and work with experienced professionals.
Explaining the details of the camp, Ankica Todorović, Head of the City’s Section for Local Economic Development and European Integration, emphasised that the aim of this event is to inform young people about what entrepreneurial thinking is and how a start-up can be established.
“Our young citizens will have the opportunity to gain high-quality information, new skills, and knowledge about everything related to start-ups. We hope this will encourage them to become successful entrepreneurs,” said Todorović, adding that the excellent response – as many as 54 registered participants – clearly shows that such events are needed in Bijeljina.
Over the course of three days, numerous interactive workshops will be held, and young participants will have the opportunity to present their ideas, work in teams, and learn. The final day of the camp is reserved for the presentation of business ideas by twelve teams of five members each, and an expert jury will assess the quality and reward the best business ideas.
Nikola Dragović, Director of the Science and Technology Park of Republika Srpska, highlighted that this is the fourth programme they are implementing in Republika Srpska.
“This is an intensive programme featuring a set of workshops that include individual and group work, and participants will be able to transform their ideas into mini business plans, which will be evaluated by experts at the end of the camp,” said Dragović, adding that the purpose of this gathering is to help young people understand that an idea can be placed on the market in a short period of time.
Radoslav Ostojić, Adviser to the Mayor of Bijeljina, thanked the partners involved in organising the camp and emphasised that such events are excellent for creating a favourable entrepreneurial environment and for the development of entrepreneurship in general.
“Calls for start-ups are, and should remain, one of the City’s main responsibilities in the field of economic development,” Ostojić concluded.
