35 new employees - the result of project „Continuous institutional cooperation towards sustainable jobs in Bijeljina“



The closing event of project "Continuous Institutional Cooperation towards sustainable jobs in Bijeljina" was held today in Bijeljina, where the results of this project were presented. The most important result of this project  is the employment of 35 persons.



Total value of project was  412.000,00 BAM and it  was financed by the European Union, with the financial contribution of the City of Bijeljina- section for Local Economic Development and European Integration was in charge of the implementation. The project partners were the Employment Institute of the Republic of Srpska – Office Bijeljina, Technical School "Mihajlo Pupin" Bijeljina, Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska - Regional Chamber of Commerce –office Bijeljina, Faculty of Business Economics Bijeljina-University of East Sarajevo, and private companies „Steco Centar“ Ltd. and „Mega Drvo" Ltd.
- The main goal of the  project was to reduce the unemployment rate in Bijeljina through the development of partnership and strengthening the capacities of local actors for development. Through this project, a partnership between the civil, public and private sector was realized in accordance with the SDGs, that is Agenda 2030. One part of  project included training of unemployed persons for CNC operators, while  second part was about self-employment -stated head of section  for Local Economic Development and European Integration Ankica Todorovic.
Training for CNC operators was carried out at the Technical School "Mihajlo Pupin" (theoretical part) and in private companies „Steco Centar“ Ltd. and „Mega Drvo“ Ltd.(practical part), and the entrepreneurship training was held in the premises of Faculty of Business Economics Bijeljina- University of East Sarajevo.
Of 19 people who successfully completed entrepreneurial training, based on the best business plans, 12  trainers were provided with incentive funds to start their own business, the total number of employed persons is 16. And the total number of employed persons in private companies "Steco Centar" Ltd. and "Mega Drvo" Ltd. is 19 pre-qualifed workers.
The project „Continuous institutional cooperation toward sustainable jobs in Bijeljina“ is being implemented within the wider project of supporting local employment in B&H, financed by the EU, and implemented by the International Labor Organization in B&H.
